๐ŸŽค Your speaker portal

Where to sign in, how to edit the profile the public sees, and how to work through your task list.

Everything you need as a speaker lives on one page: My portal, at /{event-slug}/portal. It's also ๐Ÿ™‚ My Portal in the event nav bar. Your task list, your sessions, your profile and your fee are all there.

๐Ÿ”‘ Getting in

Sign in with the email address the organizers used when they added you. That's the whole trick. Go to the portal URL, enter that address, and a one-tap sign-in link arrives by email โ€” no password to remember (see ๐Ÿ”‘ Accounts & sign-in).

โš ๏ธ Heads up
Signing in with a different address โ€” your personal one instead of your work one, say โ€” creates a separate account with no speaker record attached, and the portal won't show your sessions or tasks. If that happens, sign in with the address on the organizers' invitation, or ask them to update it.

โœ… Your task list

If the organizers have assigned you tasks, they're at the top: Tasks (2/5 done). Typical ones are "send us your headshot", "confirm your A/V needs", "upload your slides", "submit your bio".

Title and descriptionWhat they want and any detail they added.
Due dateShown as due Fri Mar 07 2026. An overdue open task turns red, so it's obvious what's late.
Mark doneThe green button on each open task. Press it when you've done the thing โ€” the task greens out and its title is struck through, and the organizers see it completed on their side.
โ„น๏ธ Note
You'll get an email when a task is assigned, a reminder 48 hours before it's due, and one more if it goes past its date โ€” so you don't have to keep checking the portal. Marking it done tells the organizers straight away.
โ„น๏ธ Note
Tasks are a checklist, not a submission form. "Upload your slides" means do it wherever the organizers asked; Mark done just tells them you have. No tasks section at all means they haven't assigned you any.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Your sessions

Under Your sessions is every session you're assigned to, each linking to its public page โ€” the one attendees see, with your abstract, the Q&A and the polls. Worth opening before the event to check the details are right and to see what your audience will see. More in ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Your sessions & presenting online.

๐Ÿ™‚ Your public profile

The Profile form at the bottom of the portal is what the public speakers directory and your session pages show. Press Save profile and it's live immediately โ€” no review step, no waiting.

FieldWhere it shows
Display nameYour name in the speakers directory, on your session pages, and in the People directory.
TitleUnder your name in listings โ€” your role or job title.
Company / orgAlongside your title.
Photo URLYour headshot. It's a link to an image hosted somewhere, not an upload, so paste the address of a picture that's already online. Square images look best in the circular avatars.
Mobile number for SMS updatesOptional, and never shown publicly. Only used if the organizers send text alerts โ€” genuinely useful on the day if a room changes.
BioThe paragraph on your speaker page. Write it in plain prose; pasted HTML formatting gets stripped out when it's displayed.
๐Ÿ’ก Tip
Fill this in early. The speakers directory is part of how the event sells tickets, and an empty card with a grey initial does you no favors. A few sentences and a decent headshot is all it takes.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Your fee

If the organizers have recorded a speaker fee for you, it appears in the portal as a green banner: ๐ŸŽค Your speaker fee for this event: $500.00. If there isn't one, no banner โ€” which either means you're not being paid a fee or they haven't entered it yet. Ask them; the portal is just showing what's recorded.

Travel expenses are separate and only appear when the organizers have turned travel billing on for the event โ€” see ๐Ÿงพ Fees & travel expense claims.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ You're also an attendee

Being a speaker gets you access to the ticket-gated content automatically โ€” you can watch session videos without buying anything. And all the attendee features work for you too: star sessions into My Schedule, use the People directory and messaging, post on the community board. You'll show up in the directory with a speaker badge next to your name.
