Earn points for taking part, climb the leaderboard, and play the trivia, spin wheel and scavenger hunt.

Many events run a points game alongside the programme — partly for fun, partly to nudge people into the bits they'd otherwise skip, like visiting booths and rating talks. 🏆 Leaderboard in the event nav is the scoreboard.

⚠️ Heads up

Every event decides its own rules: which actions score, what they're worth, what the prizes are and how winners are picked. The numbers below are the platform defaults, not a promise — check what your organizers have announced.

🏆 The leaderboard page

Your own score sits in a blue panel at the top — 340 pts — your score — along with any achievements you've unlocked and your passport progress. Below it, the ranked list of the top scorers, with 🥇🥈🥉 for the podium.

No points yet? "No points yet — visit booths, ask questions, build your schedule." Which is genuinely the advice.

⭐ Earning points

Points are awarded automatically as you use the platform — there's nothing to claim. Typical values, and note the daily caps, which stop anyone farming one action:

Downloading a booth resource	10 pts each, up to 10 a day
Asking a question in Q&A	10 pts each, up to 5 a day
Answering a poll or survey	5 pts each, up to 10 a day
Posting on the community board	10 pts each, up to 5 a day
Saying hi to someone	5 pts each, up to 10 a day
Adding a session to My Schedule	2 pts each, up to 20 a day
Finding a scavenger hunt code	20 pts, no cap
Answering a trivia question correctly	15 pts, no cap

ℹ️ Note

Each action counts once per thing — rating the same session twice doesn't pay twice, and rescanning a hunt code you already found just tells you Already found!

🎖️ Achievements

Achievements are named badges for hitting a milestone — each with its own emoji and name, listed under your score once earned. Organizers design their own set (and often use the AI challenge designer to do it), so the list differs event to event. You don't opt in; they just unlock.

🛂 The booth passport

Visiting an exhibitor's booth page stamps your passport automatically — no scanning, no form. 🏪 Exhibitors shows your progress at the top: 🛂 Passport: 7/12 booths visited, with visited booths outlined in green and ticked. Fill it and you get "complete! You're in the prize draw 🎉" plus a bonus.

💡 Tip

A full passport usually means a prize draw entry rather than a guaranteed prize. Do the rounds early — booth staff are far more use to you on quiet mornings than in the closing-hour scramble.

At an in-person event, exhibitors often have a printed QR code on the table. Scan it with your phone camera and it opens their booth page, which stamps your passport exactly as browsing to it would — so walking the hall counts.

🎡 The daily spin wheel

Once you're on the board, a 🎡 Spin the daily wheel button appears on the leaderboard page. Press it and the wheel decides your prize — bonus points, or whatever the organizers loaded in. One spin per day, so it's worth opening the leaderboard each morning of a multi-day event.

🔎 The scavenger hunt

Organizers hide printed QR codes around the venue — on booths, by the coffee, in the programme, in the lift. Scan one with your phone camera and the page tells you what happened:

🎉 +20 points! — a new code, along with "You found hunt code #4. Keep hunting!"
🔎 Already found! — you've had this one; go looking elsewhere.

Either way it shows your running total — 🗺 5 codes found so far — and links back to the leaderboard. You need to be signed in for the scan to count, so sign in before you start hunting.

🧠 Trivia

/{event}/trivia, linked from the leaderboard as 🧠 Play trivia. Numbered multiple-choice questions, usually about the event's subject matter, each answered by clicking an option. The header tracks "3/10 answered · 2 correct".

Answering locks the question immediately: the right answer turns green with a ✓, and a wrong pick is outlined red and marked ✗ your pick, with 🎉 Correct! or "Not this time — next one!" underneath. One shot per question, no changing your mind — so read all the options first. Correct answers score; wrong ones cost nothing but the chance.

💡 Tip

Questions often appear during the event rather than all at once, so an empty trivia page ("No trivia yet — check back during the event!") is worth revisiting.

🎁 Prizes

How the points convert into anything is entirely the organizers' call — a top-scorer prize, a draw among completed passports, hourly spot prizes. The platform keeps the score and shows the standings; the organizers announce the rules and hand out the prizes. If you're unclear which game is running, ask them — or check the event's community board, where it's usually been posted.
