Janine Cloud
Janine Cloud has been passionate about family history for more than forty years. She joined FamilyTreeDNA in 2011 and currently serves as Strategic Business Lead. She was previously Group Projects Manager. A genealogist and longtime DNA testing customer herself, she is especially interested in how genetic genealogy can uncover connections and reconstruct family stories when traditional records are ambiguous, incomplete, or nonexistent. Over the years, Janine has worked closely with thousands of volunteer project administrators and researchers worldwide, helping support the collaborative project system that allows genealogists to combine DNA evidence with documentary research. Her interests include Y-DNA, Native American research, placing DNA findings into historical context, and using DNA to illuminate stories the records alone cannot fully tell. Known for her approachable teaching style and practical case studies, Janine enjoys helping researchers move beyond raw DNA results toward meaningful interpretation and a deeper understanding of their ancestors’ lives.
